Get to know Glynis
End-of-life doula, celebrant and your companion in life’s most tender moments.
Here for You, Every Step of the Way
Whether you’re preparing for the end of life, arranging a funeral, or navigating grief, it can be hard to know where to begin. My role is to gently guide you through it all, with compassion, clarity and care.
When we are at our most vulnerable, we should be able to lean on and trust the professionals around us. As such a professional, I remind myself every day that this may be your first time facing something like this. My job is to meet you there — and walk beside you.
Whether it’s information, organisation, or simply a listening ear, I will be there to support you.
If you need my help, that is what I am going to give you.
Grief, death, and big transitions in life can feel overwhelming. But you don’t have to do it alone. I aim to make sure you have everything you need, in your own time, and in your own way.
You might be asking: Is Glynis the right person to help me right now?
Here are a few things that shape how I work:
I’m approachable, honest and not afraid to speak up for you when it matters.
I’ve spent time volunteering with DIME, visiting the terminally ill here in Mallorca, learning how to truly listen and offer comfort.
In 2015, I introduced the Death Café to Mallorca. In 2020, I founded Spain’s first nationwide death festival — proof that I’m not afraid to start conversations that matter.
I believe in being real — sometimes bossy, always smiley, and deeply committed to being present with you in your story.
Rooted in Family, Guided by Purpose
I was lucky to be raised by strong, loving parents and grandparents who helped me feel at ease with life and death. Their influence gave me the confidence to live wholeheartedly and support others as they face life’s final chapters.
Further training — including with Living Well Dying Well in the UK — has equipped me with the tools to guide, support and advocate for you when it’s needed most.
I was born to do this work, and I consider it an honour to be there for the families I serve.
What families say
On behalf of my sisters and myself, we would like to thank you so much for all your help and support with the funeral of our Dad. It was quite a challenging and difficult time for many reasons. Without your support it could have been a lot more difficult. We found the whole process so much better than the traditional UK approach. We appreciated your explanation of the procedure and putting a name to the two young girls who had looked after Dad. Thank you once again and wish you all the best for the future.
My daughters and I were so pleased to meet Glynis and have her as my husband’s funeral celebrant some 5 years ago! It was a ceremony that we threw in our ideas and Glynis pulled it together. She also asks all the right questions to obtain the information needed to prepare for the service. It’s SO important to prepare for our funerals as it alleviates so much stress for the loved ones left behind.
Glynis has such a wonderful calming and compassionate energy for anyone in need of support and guidance.
You make such a difference to so many lives Glynis, keep on sharing that massive heart of yours.
On the saddest of days for all my family, Glynis was so kind, patient and just generally lovely. Her ceremony was well researched and delivered, with very little notice.
I recommend Glynis because not only is she a true professional in the field but also because she works with her heart and it shows in everything she does.
Thank you so much for everything you did, I am so glad you were with us. When I got home, I had a more detailed look at the beautiful booklet you made of my mother’s celebration of life. Glynis, it is really beautifully made and it is a joy to look at. And I did not notice that it was the first time you did a celebration of life on a boat.
Thanks so much Glynis.. yesterday was beautiful, we couldn’t have done it without your help.
Glynis you are amazing. We are so grateful to you helping us at such short notice. It was such a lovely time and absolutely everyone loved it.
Thank you so much Glynis. We have just watched the ceremony through and we have pronounced it brilliant! Well done once again Glynis. Mum’s service was a triumph!
